Liyitec Showcases Patented 5-Wire Touch Technology at CeBIT
Features superior linearity, writing capability and the widest range in size

CeBIT (Booth #A08, Hall 21), Hannover, Mar 18, 2004 — Liyitec Inc., a global leading manufacturer of touch screens, showcases its worldwide patented RF5 5-wire resistive touch technology, featuring the best positional accuracy and writing capability available in the market.

Developed by Liyitec’s experienced R&D team, the unique pattern design of Liyitec’s RF5 5-wire resistive touch products has been awarded with many parents worldwide. Unlike other 5-wire products that have poor linearity on the edge, Liyitec’s RF5 provides more than 98.5% of positional accuracy throughout the whole active area, even on the very edge of the touch screen.

“Since more and more touch-based product designers utilize small icons on the user interface, the linearity of touch screens becomes a critical requirement when surveying touch screen providers,” explained Denise Chang, VP of sales and marketing at Liyitec, “The RF5’s outstanding linearity is a technology breakthrough in the touch history, and has become one major reason why many industry veterans switch to our products.”

Furthermore, the RF5 provides low touch and writing force, abrasion resistance and palm rejection features for applications that require handwriting and signature capture capability. When using with Liyitec’s state-of-art universal resistive touch controllers, the RF5 delivers high sampling speeds and high response rates that are essential for this type of applications.

“Now hi-end touch applications with writing elements like point-of-sale and web pads no longer need to use 4-wire touch screens and suffer from the low durability and lifespan, said Chang. “Our RF5 provides the same low writing force and over 35 million times of finger touch lifetime for rugged environmental usage.”

The narrow boarder design allows the RF5 products to fit right into the very slim product designs, which is now the trend of the new LCD displays, and is frequently required in many mobile and consumer-based devices.

Offering the widest range in size, Liyitec RF5 5-wire resistive touch screens are available from 5” to 21”. Special custom designs are also available, such as Palm Rejection and Vandal Proof models.
